Prof. Dr. Ir. Hildegarde Vandenhove is director of the Institute Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) at the Belgian Nuclear Research Centre. EHS deals with radiation protection, waste and disposal and decommissioning. She is president of the European Radioecology ALLIANCE, member of the EURATOM Art. 31 Group of Experts and (co)-author to 200+ international publications. Ms. Hildegarde is professor at UHasselt.
Mr. Peter Varnai is Partner at Technopolis with experience in consulting, research and education in health & life sciences. Peter has interest in linking R&I to policy and system-level applications. He evaluates complex research programmes and conducts strategic work for national and international clients. Mr. Varnai holds a PhD from the University of Oxford and MBA from Imperial College Business School.
European Mission Board Soil Health and Food
Mr. Cees Veerman studied Economics at the Erasmus University. He became a member of the Dutch Government as Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality (2002-2007). At the present Mr. Veerman is a member of several supervisory boards. He was chair of the Agricultural Task Force (2016/2017) and became Chairman of the European Mission Board Soil Health and Food in 2019.

Nowadays taking care of innovation renovation projects as well as technical assistance to Nestle markets.

Margrethe Vestager, age 52, is EU Executive Vice President-designate for the digital area and Commissioner for Competition. She previously served as Minister for Economic Affairs and the Interior (2011-14) and Minister for Education (1998-2001) of Denmark, and as President of the ECOFIN Council (2012). She was Political leader of the Danish Social Liberal Party (2007-14), and has worked for the Danish Ministry of Finance (1993-95). Ms. Vestager holds an MSc in Economics (University of Copenhagen).

Ms. Nicola Viebig is Chief Scientific Officer at the European Vaccine Initiative, leading vaccine development projects. She has more than 20 years’ research experience in academia and industry and has co-authored more than 25 articles. Ms. Viebig graduated in Biosciences from Heidelberg University, followed by post-doctoral studies at Institut Pasteur. In 2017, she was awarded with PMI’s PMP certification.

Mr. Peter Volasko works at the Directorate for Science (Ministry of Education, Science and Sport - SI) as the National Coordinator for H2020 and is a member of many committees at the EU level: ERAC, Strategic PCs for Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe, BG JRC, MB JPI JPND etc. Currently he is actively involved in the preparations for the Slovenian Presidency of the CoEU in 2021 in the area of R&I.

Prof. Dr. Veronika von Messling is Director-General of the Life Sciences Division at the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). She is a veterinarian by training and was Director of the Veterinary Division at the German Federal Institute of Vaccines and Biomedicines until 2018. In 2019, the BMBF Life Sciences Division launched the National Decade against Cancer.

Ms. Katarzyna Walcyk-Matuszyk is Deputy Director in the National Contact Point for Research Programmes of the EU. She holds a post of the Coordinator of the NCP_WIDE.NET project. One of the co-author of Polish Teaming 2 successful projects. She is member of the Advisory Board in the ERA-LEARN 2020 project, member of several committees related to structural funds and complementary funding.

Mr. Stefan Weiers is leading the sector ‘Widening’ with the European Commission's Directorate General for Research and Innovation that is dealing with the programme and policy development for the widening package in Horizon 2020 and the future Horizon Europe. He has more than 20 years of experience in European research co-operation including the SME programme, environmental and space research.
